Live OneCare installed updates that I don't want

More likely, the 'history' list would also show the update 'unsuccessful'

The bozo was compaining about getting updates to Office 2007 that he
wasn't supposed to get (proven wrong) and then he said that the
updates don't show up where you told him to look.

How he's supposed to uninstall something that isn't there is beyond me
but he keeps on complaining so I went on assuming maybe he hadn't
looked.

I think we're dealing with a classic and severe case of PEBKAC.

The Power Point 2007 Viewer is a part of the "Office 2007 System" and would
be enough to cause it to download the updates, but during installation it
will only install the necessary files for Power Point, and not any of the
others.

As you have seen the updates under "View Update History", they must be
installed. If you will notice the text above the list of updates, you will
see:

---------------------------------------------------------------
Review your Update History

Make sure all important updates have been sucessfully installed. To remove
and update, go to Installed Updates.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The words "Installed Updates" you will notice are underlined and in blue.
They are a link to a page where you can click on the update and uninstall it
if you really just can't stand it being there. If it's a critical update or
security update, I would recommend leaving it. It isn't doing any harm, and
might be protecting you from some exploit.
