As I mentioned in a previous post, I have it, thanks to Eric Schuyler.
What I need to know now, is, How Do I Send It To You?

: Neo you won't have to...
:
: 3. In the 3rd paragraph click the link where it says: "If you visit
: : *this* order website." It shows you as having ordered the
Bittorrent
: : ISO at $49.50
:
: The <<only link>> in the third paragraph is:
: "Bestell-Website"
:
: If you READ the post there could hardly be any error.

The instructions AGAIN>

Well it isn't as I'm downloading my copy as I write.

However, it's a bit complicated.

1. Register with Inspire (free, and easy) at:

https://shop.linspire.com/shopping/shopping_cartcontents.php?addItem=Array

2. Go to a German site

http://www.pcwelt.de/news/software/39287/

Then translate it into English.

3. In the 3rd paragraph click the link where it says: "If you visit
*this* order website." It shows you as having ordered the Bittorrent
ISO at $49.50

4. Click "Apply Coupon"

5. You might get two choices -- Linspire 4.5, or BitTorrent-Only Isos or
just the BitTorrent-Only Isos

6. In either case, in the box beside the BitTorrent-Only Isos option
type lindows (lower case L)

7. Click "update". That should reduce the balance tol $0.

8. Then click "Continue".

9. Then click "checkout" and then "process order now".

10. Then click "continue" again which takes you to a page saying "Sign
up for a free trial.

11. Click "My products" on the left

12. Click "CD downloads"

13. Assuming you want to download from an ftp server rather than using
the Bittorrent program, you must now cick the line that says "Linspire
4.5 Installation CD (Bittorrent)".

14. Click "proceed with download"

That takes you to a page with two ftp ownload options, which should be
straightforward enough.

Well I said it was complicated. Good luck!>>>

Cheers!

**Now if I could just get somebody to DL it for ME

I be happy as a clam!

C

some part of their website hasn't been changed since lindow switch to
linspire.
the reason of free full download was to attract people over when the change
of name was completed.

C

Ceg

Oh yeah...I'm sure I'd want to work with a piece of software that comes from
someplace where they don't even bother to update their website when changes
are made? You keep saying "free download"...what does that have to do with
their wanting $4.95/mo subscription?

S

Steve Craig

Try not to get too worked up. The Linspire/Lindows 4.5 download is free. The
15 day free trial and $4.95/mo subscription is for access to the Click N Run
(CNR) Warehouse where you can download and run a multitude of free and
member priced software programs compiled specifically for Linspire. Be aware
that these CNR programs will cease to function if and when you cancel your
CNR membership.

Hope this helps.

Steve

C

Ceg

So the subscription is for the add-ons and not the Linspire? Lindows used
to have a renewal, is that still in effect?

S

Steve Craig

The subscription fee is actually $49/yr. The $4.95/mo is for cheap
bastards like me, but I believe if you cancel before the year is up,
they bill you for the balance in one lump. At least that's the way it is
if you buy Linspire Plus (which includes a one year CNR subscription) on
the monthly plan.

Steve

C

Chong

the subscription is for their other programs and
utilities available from their site thru their cnr software.
I installed 4.5 and got online and email right away.that's all i want this
machine for.they even got a software for sharing with microsoft office.

Anyone found the minimum system requirements for
linspire-full-4.5.393?

I searched the site, got sysreq. for LindowsLive, but nothing else.
Sent a comment saying I wasn't searching for LindowsLive requirements,
and got an automatic response directing me to the same faq about
LindowLive.

Haven't burned the iso yet, so I don't even know the package list.

and its working fine.I downloaded the iso as well. But my full retail box of
linspire plus came in this morning and it runs smooth as well on the same
machine.

What about minimal storage requirements, floppy boot for the install?
