Links in Favorits reappear after being deleted

I have deleted links from Favorites,(not pre-installed by Microsoft) items
on my desktop and files and folders on my hard drive however, whenever I
reboot my PC all the links, items on desktop and files and folders on my hard
drive reappear. What do I do to delete all these permantaly ?

I have Windows XP, Version pack 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sean,

This is common behavior if your system needs to be cleaned. Try this combo:
Each of them!

Run Ad-Aware SE, Spybot and HijackThis:
