Links display as plain, black text

On some web pages, all the text, including that in links,
is black. If I scan the page with my mouse, a hand will
pop up as I cross over a link. Once found, the links work
properly. An example is http://www.us.sorbs.net/ All I
see on this page is black text, but when my mouse passes
over the word "projects" in "(see projects page...", the
hand appears. I can click the word "project" and the link
works fine. Why do all the links look like plain text?
I have IE 6.0 and WinXP Home.
Thank you.

Does your view have a line under the link, such as the projects. The page
is all in black text to me too, but, that is evidently because the WebMaster
did not set them up to be in a different color from the font color, as is
the case on many WebPages I have seen. As long as there is a line under it
to designate it being a link, I would not consider there being a problem.
Just the choice of the WebPage author not to change the color the link text.

Hi Jan,
Thank you for answering.
1) On my display, there is no line under "projects" so it
looks just like all the rest of the text,
2) I have a friend in Australia who has IE 6.0 and the
links display as dark blue on his computer.
I think the problem is a combination of two things: a
coding of the links that is not "plain vanilla" and an IE
setting on MY computer - but WHAT setting?

As it appears to be a setting on your machine, check the following:

Tools | Internet Options | General tab | Colors (tab near the bottom)
Click it and check the colors for Links (on the right). See what colors are
listed there. If they are not the colors you want, click on each tab and
change it to whatever color you want (usual colors are Purple for the
Visited, and Dark Blue for the Unvisited). Then click OK.

Also, on the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Underline Links section, be
sure the Always radio button is checked.

See if this helps.
