Link on Start menu pointing to WRONG file

Guest

I am the adminstrator and owner of my home/office PC and on my Start up items
"MY MUSIC"points to another users file
[C:\Documents and Settings\White Buffalo\My Documents]
when it should direct it to [[[C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents]]]
I have tried to remove it and place my music files there etc and have not
been able to change where the link directs it to.
Please Help me I am out of ideas.

Sounds like the registry key for your Shell Folders and/or User
Shell Folders is FOBAR.

Instead of trying to "remove it", try moving the incorrectly
located folder(s) to the correct location(s). Note that the
Operating System will automatically update the registry key for
the Shell Folders and/or User Shell Folders so that it points to
the new (correct) location.

Change the location of the My Music or My Pictures folders
Contributed by Larry Samuels

In Windows 2000, Microsoft added the ability to right-click
the My Documents folder and choose a new location for that
folder in the shell. With Windows XP, Microsoft has elevated
the My Music and My Pictures folders to the same "special
shell folder" status of My Documents, but they never added
a similar (and simple) method for changing those folder's
locations. However, it is actually pretty easy to change the
location of these folders, using the following method.

Open a My Computer window and navigate to the location
where you'd like My Music (or My Pictures) to reside.
Then, open the My Documents folder in a different window.
Drag the My Music (or My Pictures) folder to the other
window, and Windows XP will update all of the references
to that folder to the new location, including the Start menu.

<End Copy and Paste>

Note: You can quickly open your personal My Music folder by
clicking Start, clicking Run, typing the following command and
clicking OK:

Shell:My Music
