link on autoshape not working

D

Dave Leer

I am trying to make a button out of an autoshape. I am using a callout
autoshape that looks like a camera. The hyperlink has been added to it,
though when I am in "slideshow" view it does not recognize it as a button,
and when I click on it, it just advances to the next slide rather than
opening up a web page.

Any iddeas what might be wrong?

Thanks!

Does the call out have a fill? If not, try clicking the lines, that should
execute your link.

When you say callout, do you mean the camera in more autoshapes?

It should work with or without a fill. Are you sure there's nothing in front
of it (maybe part of a transparent png / gif? Try "bring to front"

The original poster said he was using "a callout autoshape that looks like a
camera." So yes, I'm sure you're all talking about the same object.

Not necessarily. There are some issues with no line/no fill shapes,
especially with the PPT Viewer. I would recommend using a fill, and not one
that's 100% transparent. Go for 99% if you need transparency.
