License checking

I am getting the following error on XP SP2 any suggestions.

"A problem is preventing windows from accyrately checking the license for
this computer error code 0x8009001D"

This occurs when the system is first booted, although I can get into safe
mode without any problems.

System was working fine until a day ago, and now get this message whenever
we boot.

any ideas?
