licence transfer

I just had to buy a new laptop partly due to a virus problem. The existing
machine has Outlook 2007, bought about 4 months ago as an MS download. I have
the licence number but have mislaid the backup copy I took. The new machine
has a 60 day trial of MS office pre-installed. Can I de-activate the version
on the old machine and transfer the licence number to the pre-installed
trial?

From where did you downloaded a legitimate copy of Outlook 2007?

You cannot transfer an OEM version to another host. An OEM version
sticks to the first host on which it gets installed.
