Try this.. go to "view", select whatever you want, then "tools", "folder
options"-"view", "Apply to all folders".. and teorically don´t have to
change anymore.
I hope that helps.

Windows XP keeps trying to return to the defaults
Microsoft wants. One example is it keeps returning to
icon view in windows explorer. I want list view.
Is there some way to stop Microsoft from trying to
control how I set-up windows XP? So it stays the way I
set it up.

Increase folder view size limit to 8000 (line 2, left column)

I've always wondered about that "fix"...wouldn't it bloat the registry?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the idea of "bags", but wouldn't it be simpler if
there was only *one* entry, acting as a template, instead of allowing this
to bloat to 8000 entries of "mostly the same data"?

I for instance never have more than around 250 settings stored. So 400 is a good choice. At the moment I have 258 folders visited. This takes up 600K of registry space. If we extrapolate this to 400 we see that the standard storage space is approx 1 meg. If one increases this to 4000 then presumbably is a linear increase so that is 10 Meg of registry storage space. And most folders there you may never revisit. So a last visited of 400 folders is a good compromise.
