Laserjet 1100 Problem with upgrade to XP

I had a windows 98 computer that I used my 1100 printer with. It gave
me the option of printing at 300 dpi or 600 dpi with text. I recently
bought a Windows XP computer, and it does not give me that option with
text. (It does give me that option with images however.) I tried XP's
compatibility mode (not able to use the wizard so far) and that did not
help. Can anyone tell me whether I can operate the 1100 with the 300 or
600 dpi option? Also, I am assuming that the laserjet is currently
printing at 600 dpi. Is that correct?

Thanks,

JD

I think it is simply that the option is not supported with the XP driver in
which case there is probably no solution, I would expect that the printer is
printing text at 600dpi by default.
