laptop goes into standby often!

This is a ew annoyance lasting 2 weeks-- my Dell insp. laptop with XP sp2
Media Center, keeps going to standby mode- without prompt. I reset the power
to defaults and kept tweaking it, but it seems to be getting worse. It
doesn't happen while I am working, but sometimes after I eopen the cover to
continue what I was doing, then it does it. Sometimes the screen darkens
only, sometimes it just goes to standby. I had set it to "Never" but that
didn't help-- it almost seems like a Worm is doing this? But my av is up to
date. Help!

Call Dell tech support. It sounds like hardware failure. Perhaps the
charger board (part of the motherboard) is dying.

Have you tried Dell's *tech support* in India, this could be a
hardware problem

Possibly there is a BIOS setting causing this? Turn off all power management
in the BIOS if that's possible.
