Laptop failing to connect to Internet

Hi there, my laptop is failing to connect to the Internet after i attempted
to install a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. The internet was working fine when
i first tried the installation. I put the CD in and followed the
instructions, but then when it said it needed to 'find' the internet, it
couldnt, so i had to cancel the install, and then when i double clicked IE
later, the internet says it's connected, but no page can be displayed, nor
will MSN Messenger connect.

It seems that somehow by installing the software (from the CD) i've gone
wrong somewhere, and broke the connection to the internet somehow? I don't
know!

I did however do it on my computer upstairs, it 'found' the internet fine
that time, so i must have just done something accidentally with my laptop.
Any help would be much obliged.

You were installing a Nintendo Wifi adapter onto a laptop? Unless the
adapter had XP drivers, the adapter would not be usable on a laptop.
It seems that now your may have "disabled" the laptop's original
wireless adapter. Without knowing the laptop's make / model, you will
need to locate the manuals and look on how to turn on / restart / re-
install the wireless adapter.

Hi guys, ok unfortunatelty i no longer have the manual, so if theres anything
i can tell you from here that can help? It doesn't really have a model number
as it's one of those own-brand ones, i think it's a "Mi Note 8615", don't
know if that helps. On dxdiag it says that it's system manunfacturer is
"MiTAC" and its computer name is "P8615"

On the device manager it tells me that i have an "Atheros AR5006EG Wireless
Network Adaptor" and a "VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adaptor". Not sure if that
helps?

Like i say, in the bottom right hand it says it's connected but nothing can
do anything, like Skype, IE or MSN. Sorry i don't know too much guys. Let me
know if theres anything else you need.

Thanks again.
