laoptop won't go to sleep

NOW, after doing a registry cleaning, my laptop won't go to sleep when
I close the lid.
The power options in the control panel has only one option under the
power button -DO NOTHING when I close the lid.

How do I get other options like - GO TO SLEEP- under this item.

I have already done a repair reinstall of XP.

Bummer, make current backups of your data, get out the laptop system
restore disk and put things back the way they were. And throw away the
"registry cleaner" software so you won't be tempted to hose your system
again.

I an't get it to go into standby from any place. Standby is always
grayed out.
Obviously it was a reg entry that was removed-
anybody know where that is in the registry. Maybe I can fix it by
putting entries back in from what I see on my other laptop.
