LAN and Internet Connection Firewall

Hi

I have a laptop (WinXP Home) and a desktop (Win98)
connected together with a Uniden router to share a cable
internet connection. My question is, I cannot share
files or see either comptuer from the other whenever
Internet Connection Fire wall is checked (WinXP). The
only way I can is to uncheck the Internet Connection
Firewall box in the Local Area Connection settings.
After sharing printers or files or whatever else, I go
back and recheck the Internet Connection Firewall. Is
there any way to change a setting somewhere to allow the
two comptuers to communicate while Internet Connection
Firewall is checked? Each computer can connect to the
internet with no problem. Also, I doubt this is a router
caused issue because I had to do the same thing when I
connected the two directly (with a crossover cable)
before getting the router. I would prefer to keep
Internet Connection Firewall checked (for extra security)
and access the other computer on the lan with out having
to change settings back and forth everytime.

Any suggestions are appreciated!!! Thanks!

Hi Phil
Don't use ICF unless your pc is connected directly to a modem. You can
download better for free - sygate, zonealarm and some others.
