label shows up as gray background momentarly

I have a panel that has a white background, ontop of that I have a table
layout panel and each row / col has a lable in it... when the form loads and
shows the panel the labels flicker a gray background in their drawing
region... then go to the correct white background... any reason why this
happens? it happens really fast but is still annoying

Are the labels' backgroundColor property set to Transparent? If so,
try making the label's background white instead of transparent.
