L2TP/IPSec connections and NAT-T

Hi all, I have been successful in creating PPTP
connections over the internet with the client being behind
a NAT Firewall.

I have been able to establish a L2TP/IPSec connection when
the client workstation is directly connected to the
internet.

In both cases, I am connecting to a WIndows 2000 Server
with Service Pack 4.

I have installed the latest support from MS for the NAT-T
VPN L2TP support .. but it only works with Windows Server
2003.

Is there any support for Windows 2000 server to have the
same NAT-T support ..

Regards .. JG

No.

I have experience only with hardware based VPN servers, however from what I
understand, Microsoft L2TP/IPSec VPN Client supports IPSec NAT Traversal
while the Win2K server does not. That means the client can connect to a VPN
server that supports IPSec NAT Traversal while Microsoft plans to support
these IPSec extensions in the Windows Server 2003 family.
