Kodak Easyshare Software unable to startup

After deleting the old program, cleaning up my VIsta Windows Home Premium
computer I re-installed the Kodak Easy Share. When it finally attempts to
open I get an error message saying that it is Microsoft's problem and gives
me a solution. The downloadable solution then says it's not relevant to my
system. Anyone have any ideas about how to get this to work on my new
computer??

How did you delete the old program? Please explain the process/procedure
you used for "Cleaning up my Vista Windows Home Premium computer" as the
methodology may be related to the issue. Also, when you state you
reinstalled Kodak Easy Share, did you first check the Kodak site to make
sure you had the latest Vista compatible version of the software?

Ok, when I got my new Vist Home Premium computer from Dell, I transferred all
programs and files from my old XP Dell Computer via a Belkin transfer cable.
The Kodak program I transferred did not work and I was informed by Kodak that
I should not have transferred the program. The advised me to uninstall and
re-install the program in the following manner:

Repair the program
Uninstall the program.
Download and use their Utility Cleanup Tool (closing all programs including
security programs)
Initiate the disk cleanup and delete temporary internet files, empty recycle
bin, and delete temporary files.
I then closed all running startup programs and restarted my computer.
Upon restart I installed the new program from the Kodak site for Vista.
Kodak advised me to custom install it with only the basic software and the
printer dock.
After the install, before restarting the computer, I enabled the start up
programs I had previously disabled.
After the restart the program opened and only got to the 3rd set up screen
when the program was shut down as not operating correctly by microsoft. This
is when I was advised there was a Microsoft Vista issue and they sent me a
solution that was subsequently not applicable.

Now I am stuck and it seems Kodak is too since I have yet to get another
answer from them to follow up on.

You should have let the installation complete and reboot the system before
re-enabling the startup programs. The install began with the system in one
condition but wasn't allowed to finish setup in that same condition, if I'm
reading you correctly.

Try this, disable startup programs one by one. After you disable, one,
reboot, then see if you can get Easy Share to work, Keep attempting to do
this, disabling each startup program one by one and first rebooting as that
program will already be started and see if you can get Easy Share to
complete the installation and work as necessary. Once you've accomplished
that, assuming you are able to accomplish that, enable the startup programs
one by one, rebooting after each one, then testing to be sure Easy Share
continues to function after enabling startup apps, one by one.

Hi Marylou
Make sure you close all anti-virus programs,Windows Defender & if you have
Spy-bot search & destroy exit it too before installing Kodak. I have Kodak
software here running fine. I am using Vista 64 ultimate.
