Keyboard shortcut for Style Heading 4

J

Jon

If I press CTRL ALT then a number between 1 & 4, I'm supposed to get the
corresponding Heading style.

This works fine in Word 2002. In Word 97, it works for Heading 1 to 3, but
not for Heading 4 - instead a Euro (currency) sign appears.

I've tried to use Customise to assign CTRL ALT 4 to Heading 4. The keyboard
shortcut is accepted in the customise window, but when I use CTRL ALT 4,
Heading 4 style is not applied, and the Euro sign still appears.

Is this a bug or have I done something wrong in Word 97?

You could try unassigning Alt+Ctrl+4 from the euro (FWIW, the standard
shortcut for the euro appears to be Alt+Ctrl+E). If that doesn't help, you
can save yourself some grief if you just give up and use the
Alt+Shift+Left/Right arrow shortcuts to apply headings.
