Kernel32.dll problem

I am currently trying to install NHL 2002, however the
error message I receive is "The procedure entry point
GetCurrentDirectoryA could not be located in the dynamic
link library KERNEL32.dll"

Does anyone know how I can correct this problem?

Walter:

According to the game's requirements, Windows XP is not listed as
a compatible operating system although Windows 2000 is.

Check with Electronic Arts to make sure the game can be installed to
Windows XP. It appears from the error that it may not be. You
might have to upgrade to NHL 2004 which is compatible.
