Keeping websites out of address bar history drop down menu

I have IE6 and I'm want to disable address bar history. I know that you can
delete the history through internet options, but is there a way to make it
not show up at all.

Use the menu options that other users have discussed and also check out this

After using your web browser, this program can be automatically set to clear
all your tracks. You would be surprised to find how many files Windows
creates and hides while just visiting a few sites on the net.

I tried this but the addresses I type in still appear in the drop down menu.
Is there something else I need to do?
