JVM in the Internet Explorer

Fangy

Hi,
In my organization, a Windows 2000 server has a IE 6 SP1 with MSJVM
1.1.4.
How do I uninstall MSJVM from IE and install JRE / Java Plugin into it?

O

oops!!

Install the latest Sun Java JRE 5.0 Update 7 from here:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Reboot and that should be enough, but to be 100% sure go to Internet
Properties > Advanced tab > scroll down to Java and make sure only Java
(Sun) is selected/ticked. If necessary untick MSJVM.

Reboot.

That's it.

Cheers,

Zee

See IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Java & Microsoft VM.

Also see [Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs >] Set Program Access and
Defaults > Default virtual machine for Java

Reboot after making any changes in the above.

It seems like IE6 will not include a JVM.
Do I need to install one when I setup a new Windows computer?

See IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Java & Microsoft VM.

Also see [Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs >] Set Program Access and
Defaults > Default virtual machine for Java

Reboot after making any changes in the above.
