JREX GX1 USB problem

T

Thomas Korte

Hi!

Any1 here who got a clue, how to get the USB port running on a JREX
GX1 with Windows XPe?

The usb port is supported by a Geode CS5530A chip.
Windows XPe (also Win XP Pro) finds a "Compaq PCI to USB Open Host
Controller", but is not able to start this device.

Do I need another driver? Or is it a bios problem?

Thanks for your help.

regards Thomas

You have installed XP with SP1, right?

Try to find USB drivers for your board manufacturer.
Also try to contact manufacturers technical support.

Ask for more help in:
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
microsoft.public.windowsxp.device_driver.dev

right.
Try to find USB drivers for your board manufacturer.
Also try to contact manufacturers technical support.

There is no special USB driver available for the J-REX GX1 board and
the manufacturer couldnt help me really right now.
The only information I got from them is, that they have tested the USB
support under Win98 SE successfully. I tried it here also and they're
right: under Win98 SE it works! (the device was detected as Compaq USB
Controller also)

It seems that the problem is really the interaction between the board
and the XP driver :(

Thomas,

I though that I saw new binaries made by MS in some of chipset driver packs.
I don't recall where I saw this (maybe I imagined this), since I'm unable to
find it right now.

Forget the manufacturer of the board, they are irrelevant.
AMD has bought and manufacturing the CS5530A chipset. Also they have support
for their boards, and chipsets.

There is NDA agreement you must sign to access "Geode Developer Support".
But since they are claiming that their boards based on CS5530A support XPe
then this also can be applied to you.

You should contact them regarding any hardware support.
Start from page:

Also you can include setupapi.log for us to try to see what failed. Or at
least error code from Device Manager.

Have a Happy New Year!
Slobodan
