Joystick Calibration screen not working

Hi, I am running XP Pro, SP2. Now I have had this problem ever since using XP
even without the SP's. When I go to control panel, and game controllers to
calibrate my devices, the screens are blank! I can not see what I'm doing in
order to calibrate. But when I click on the "test" tab I can see the
crosshair and move it around and buttons etc. Is there a fix for this? I have
a usb gamepad and a gameport joystick. Both have the same issue. It does not
help not being able to calibrate when I play flying games.

Thank you

A wild guess would be that your video driver, card, and display combination
has a problem with the video mode used for the calibration screens.

Another possibility is that there is some sort of odd problem with the game
device drivers and or USB ports (if used).
Have you ever tried to remove the game devices and then reinstall them?
