Jerky scrolling in browser

E

EJ

When I scroll in a browser the movement is jerky. I also
notice that when I'm moving any window on my desktop the
movement is jerky and the window seems to have a shodow
following it. I've just installed Windows XP Professional
on my computer.

I tried to check on the refresh frequency, but I can't
locate it. When I go to Display from the control panel
there's nothing there for the monitor which is where the
info for the refresh frequency should be.

What should I do?

Thanks

Refresh rate would only make the screen flicker and for the record, when you
go to Display, refresh rate is on the settings tab.

As to the issue you are having, place the XP CD in the drive, when the setup
screen appears, select "Check System Compatibility," the report it creates
may give a clue as to the source of the issue.

Be sure all your drivers are up to date, check the websites of your device
manufacturer's for the latest drivers.

Hi EJ,

Have you installed any of the Windows Updates yet? Specifically, KB824145 is
known to cause this issue. The only cure for the moment is to uninstall it
(look for the hotfix under add & remove).
