jdbgmgr

I recently received an email from someone I could trust
stating that I need to find the jdbgmgr.exe file on my
computer and delete it. I was told that it was part of a
virus that goes thru your address book. Is there any
truth to this? I'm skeptical because I found several
files with the jdbgmgr name and none of them have been
edited lately.

There is a virus that goes with that file name. But there is also a valid
Windows file, the Microsoft® Debugger Registrar for Java. The latest
version for XP is 5.0.3810.0 (your version may be 3805 or 3809). You can
find the version information by right clicking the file and selecting
Properties, Version.

Don't do it, this is an old hoax. That is a javascipt debugger that your system needs to access pages with faulty javascript.
