JavaScript required

Everytime I use IE 6 sp2, i get the following error when opening websites:
Javascript required. The browser you are using does not support javascript
or you have disabled javascript.

I have gone into Options/Security, and java is enabled, on advanced, java
app is checked...can anyone help
