Javascript in Win2000 Prof Doesn't run

J

Jim Garvey

I have a Javascript that controls menus within our
Intranet Site. It operates wonderfully on XP workstations
but not so onour Win2000 Prof Workstations. All the
win200 Stations are running SP4 and IE 6 sp1. We have the
settings in the advanced tab (IE Properties) on for Java
VM, as well as made sure that in the security settings
enabled Java scripting.

What tweek am I missing to have javascript rub correctly?

Try this:
Close Internet Explorer.
Right click the IE icon on the desktop.
Click the security tab,
Click on Local Intranet,
Click Custom
Scroll down to Scripting and enable Active scripting.
Click OK and OK to save.
Reopen Internet Explorer.

Java and Java are two different technologies. JavaScript is normally enabled
by default in most browsers.

Thanks for the suggestion but it is enabled within the
security tab. By the way its a Javscript question. And
it's consistant accross all the windows 2000 workstations.

OK, try this.
On the machines where javascript doesn't work.
Close IE, Right click the Desktop IE Icon and select Properties,
Select the Programs tab, Click "Reset web settings"
and in the next pop-up uncheck "Reset My Home page"
Click OK to apply and AUK to exit.
Reopen IE.
