Hi,
Did you try...

Reinstall the scripting engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download of Windows Script 5.6

Re-registering the DLLs listed in this article may help:

After You Click a Link: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

Java and JavaScript have nothing to do with each other.

1. You might want to refresh your scripting engine:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.

2a. Start>Run>Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

2b. Start>Run>Regsvr32 jscript.dll

(WinXP users who have problems with 2a and 2b, see
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers_9.htm)

3. Re-register all DLLs listed in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

4. See also

on This Page
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306831

Installing Office 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822521

5a. IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Browsing>Enable third-party browser
extensions (uncheck & reboot).

5b. Find the hijacker that caused 5a to be checked (or if none were checked,
check for hijackware anyway):

Did you see my post from yesterday in answer to yours?

1. You might want to refresh your scripting engine:

That may be the problem. Are you letting it change the User-Agent?

Apparently some bits of it can still remain active even when it has been
disabled. Since you seem to be grasping at straws I would try uninstalling
it too.

Try some diagnosis?

First let's find out what your User-Agent should be
and what is actually being received remotely:

Enter in an IE Address bar which is in the Internet zone:

javascript:navigator.userAgent

(Note the capitalization of the the A in userAgent.)

Next, in a new window go here:

http://www.fiddlertool.com/useragent.aspx

Compare both results. E.g. is the User-Agent= string reported by
the fiddlertool site the same as the results in the first window?
If they are different you likely have found the cause of your problem.

Hmm... how handy. There is some extra stuff at the bottom which
I wasn't aware of which could be used to prove that at least one site
is aware that your brower supports various types of scripting.

I could go on but I'll wait for a report from you on the results of the
above tests first. E.g. even if your User-Agent is not being changed
it may be sufficiently odd to cause a web application to misidentify
and misunderstand your browser's capabilities. Typically when websites
don't recognize a browser they make a worstcase guess about its
capabilities. I am guessing that that may be what is happening to your
requests at this site.

don't recognize a browser they make a worstcase guess about its
capabilities. I am guessing that that may be what is happening to your
requests at this site.

I've done the following
Tools > Internet Options > Security > Internet > Custom > Java > Java
Permissions > High Safety (recommended)
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Java > Java (Sun) (checked)
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Microsoft VM > JIT compiler...
(checked
Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content when that dialog pops up) It's often
recommended that the TIF folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)

I've tried these two commands from Start> Run> cmd [enter]
regsvr32 vbscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]
to Reregisters2 DLLs necessary for IE to run Javascript.
Gone to Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone, set
it to Default.
what else can I do

....
not sure what you meant but this is what was there
....

User-Agent is the header which a browser sends to help identify itself
to the web application, e.g. in case the web application wants to send
different content to different types or versions of browsers to take advantage
of their assumed capabilities.

These tests have proved that your User-Agent is normal and is not being
corrupted on the path to an application; so we will assume for now that
at least as far as you can control it the User-Agent being sent to your problem
site should be the same one that the diagnostic site received.

Next let's try to refine your symptom description on the problem site.
The best way to do that would be to install and activate a script debugger
and let it tell you exactly what the context of the error message is.

Instead you can use prompts from the Security Settings dialog to break up
the flow at that site and use them as checkpoints so we know how far
into the site you are getting before the error message occurs.

First, please maximize your IE window and ensure that the Status bar is on it.
(e.g. press Alt-Space,X and Alt-V,B). That way the maximum amount of
information will be available to you from both the Status bar and the Title bar.

Then, doubleclick on the zone icon in the Status bar and click on Default Level
(so that as much as possible we know what settings you are starting with and
that they are safe); then click on Custom Level... To see settings which have
Prompts available for them all you have to do is press P. When you do that
you can see whether the setting is Disable, Enable or already Prompt by the
green dot. If it is Enable (i.e. green dot beside that word) then press Space.
That will change the setting to Prompt. Repeat those steps:
1. type P
2. check for green dot beside Enable
3. press Space only if above check is true
until all possible prompts have been examined and changed as appropriate.

Note in particular that settings which are currently Disable should not be set
to Prompt in order to avoid any possibility of confusion later on when they
might be used. Advanced users might be able to take advantage of the
additional information available by knowing if the site would try to use some
normally disabled features by getting a "checkpoint" for those too and then
knowing enough that those prompts would usually get a No response
but I just want to be sure that you can safely reply Yes to any prompt
that you get without having to understand what it might mean.

Now enter your site:
http://www.candyland.com/

When I do that with the suggested prompts enabled I get:
1. Prompt: Scripts are usually safe. Do you want scripts to run?
What's interesting is what is in the Status bar:
Opening page http://www.hasbro.com/candyland/...
2. Press Y.
3. Prompt: Scripts are usually safe. Do you want scripts to run?
Now that new URL is in the Address bar too.
4. Press Y.
5. Prompt: Do you want to allow software such as ActiveX controls
and plugins to run?
Now I have a blue background, a menu bar, and that new URL is
in the title bar too.
6. Press Y. (Normally I wouldn't do this right away until I knew what
this was about but pressing N would probably just reproduce your
symptom. BTW that is a benefit of this technique: you can try either
case just to see what the differences are and draw any additional
inferences about the site from those observations. In any case
View Source shows that the site is using Macromedia Flash.
So rather than Java support I would suspect that your Flash support
could be the cause of your symptoms.)
7. Done. (But very slowly? E.g. if you are getting an error symptom
between allowing the ActiveX control but before done there are
additional clues you could give us by noticing when it occurs in
relation to all the subsequent changes in the Status bar.)

When you are finished testing use the same procedure to change
your Security settings back to Default Level: doubleclick on the
zone icon in the Status bar and just click on the Default Level button.
Then close the dialog.

Good luck
