Java support in IE Chat, Yahoo games, etc

Each time I want to use IE Chat, Yahoo games and other
java sensitive programs the statement "this bowser
doesn't support Java reader"

Do I have to uninstall and reinstall IE6, or is there
another fix? Help Please !!
