Java Applet issues with XP SP2

Hi,

I am running two computers (1 x XP Home & 1 x XP Pro) and ever since I
started running/updating SP2 Java Applets are not running on the websites I
am viewing. I am running jre 1.4.2 and the problem never occured under SP1,
but I can't work out why it is happening under SP2 - I have looked through
all of the setting both in IE and the JRE panels. Although the applets don't
work I don't get the little red "x" that usually appears - all i get is a
grey box where the applet usually is. Can somebody please help me as this is
extremely frustrating.

thanks

Hi,

Nope not being blocked by anything in IE nor is it being blocked by any
firewall that i am using nor is it being blocked by any antivirus program
etc. which is why it is totally baffling me as to what the problem is.

Somebody please help me :(

Hi,
If not being blocked by IE (Internet Options> Security) is a third-party
program blocking Java applets, scripts, scripting, etc?

Check the configuration of security, antivirus, ad-blocking programs,
toolbars, etc.

Have you uninstalled/reinstalled JRE?
