my standing in my profession. Microsoft is somewhat alarmed, but they are
not scared. Even if you have your way (which you won't) just by attrition,
it will take decades for Linux to overtake Microsoft and by that time, I
will be on a beach in the Bahamas drinking and watching the girls go by on
the beach and not give a rats ass about any software solution.

No, it just so happens that MS was the one to cut the deals way back when
with the OEM's to put Windows on the PC's they sell. If it was IBM that was
able to cut the deal for OS2 Warp, we would all be bitching about IBM now
instead of MS.
For a very long time now, if you go into a store, all the PC's have Windows
pre-installed and for most people, a PC _is_ Windows. And to further that,
most people only know the OS is called Windows because that's what it says
at the boot splash screen.

Regardless of whether or not someone can afford to buy something means

be a small standing in the world.
So why can't you say what you do for work? You said you use computers in
your job? Could it be ringing up orders for customers wanting a Big Mac,
Large order of fries, and a small drink? Oh yea, some of those POS systems
are probably on the Unix/Linux platform
