All I want to do is insert a link to a movie I've found on YouTube (and,
unfortunately, no where else.) I cannot download the movie, so I am forced to
link to it there. However, I cannot find a way to do this.
Insert a Movie requires the file be in a folder, which (see above) I cannot
do.
If I try to use a hyperlink, I am switched to the YouTube web page.
If I try to use an embedded object, using the URL from the YouTube page as
the URL on the properties sheet, PPT tells me it is getting connected, then
ready, but never plays when I click on the Play button...
I'm beginning to think this can't be done, but it should be something that
can be done...very frustrating.

As obvious - when you KNOW how to do something (as I said below) it is very
easy...

Now the question remains: Why did I have to go through the hassle of setting
up an account and go to a website, and pose a question, and then (after
getting someone to answer my question, very graciously--and THANK YOU very
much!) get the response and apply it--

WHEN ALL I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO DO IS LOOK IT UP IN THE HELP FILE?

Thanks to Lucy for pointing the way, but in this day and age, there is no
reasonable excuse that these instructions are not a part of the written
documentation (except for Microsoft's inability to admit other company's
(that they don't yet own) products exist.

Now to finish the PowerPoint.

Thanks again, Lucy...

Obvious answer: You shouldn't have to.
Sad fact of life: Help's pretty sad. Hey. I'm trying to be charitable.

If you're in a jam and haven't got time to wait for an answer here, try Google; the
newsgroup search is pretty good at turning up posts here.

WHEN ALL I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO DO IS LOOK IT UP IN THE HELP FILE?

Does YouTube's help file talk about how to use PowerPoint? :)

Happy to help Jeff. And yes Help is a bit ordinary - but then there are so
many fabby websites to find info, written by real users (I swear the people
who write help have never actually used the programme they're writing about).

The product might (and I stress MIGHT) be OK, but their advertising
technique is trash.
