it quits when i click on a video effect

i open the program i got to edit moive and i click on
view video effects and i click on a effect and it just
quits no errors no nothing just closes it self real
fast ????????????
plzzzzz help meeee plzzzzzzzz

i used imovie on a mac
and i really loved it some one plz help me so i can
use my pc and not buy a mac
