Issues with MOSS 2007 and Outlook 2007 communicating

I wasn't sure if this should be posted here or in SharePoint Server. Please
let me know if this isn't the right place.

I am currently using Outlook 2007 and MOSS 2007 at work. I have connected
the SharePoint contacts list to Outlook and it loaded all the content fine.
However, when I update the contact information in SharePoint, Outlook doesn’t
update the entry. Also, when I update from Outlook, SharePoint won’t update
the entry.

I have done the same thing with our department calendar – opened the
calendar in SharePoint and connected to Outlook. When I update SharePoint,
Outlook sees the appointment, but not the other way around.

Is there something I’m missing?

Does your account have write permission to the sharepoint site? That is
required for outlook to update the calendar and contacts libraries.

Changes made in sharepoint should update outlook at the next sync - it may
not be immediate though. If you press Shift+F9 while looking at the folder
in outlook, does it update?

Diane,

Thank you. I checked these things and while the send/receive was running,
it seemed stuck at 67%. I pulled up the details on the send/receive and it
was the calendar sync that was taking so long. Since I don't have to sync
that calendar with Outlook, I deleted it from Outlook and now my contacts are
updating. I'm optimistic that this has fixed my problem with the contacts.
If not, I will be sure to post again.

Thank you for your help with this!
