I'm running Windows 2000 Advanced Server at home, with a desktop PC and a
laptop PC both connecting to it. Both of the Clients are configured with
Windows XPSP2. Both login accounts are configured to map a drive directly
through Active Directory, rather than using a login script.
Within about half an hour of logging in at either of the clients, the mapped
drive shows up in "My Computer" as being disconnected. However,
double-clicking on the drive does not reconnect it - subsequently there is
no way of browsing the server from either of the clients, even through the
administrative shares. This means that if I try to log either of the
clients out, any changes to the local profiles are not being propagated back
to the server.
Is there a simple solution to this? I've not made any changes to the
configuration on the server.
TIA
