Is there any way to get Hotmail on Vista?

Richard B

I'm finding all kinds of information on administrative accounts, but I
can't find anything about gaining access to the "Administrator" account
on my system. And the more I look around the more I learn I don't have
control over very much. I can't get access into some of the folders
under my own account.

Where do I go to make this hidden account appear?
Or where can I learn about making this hidden account appear?

Thanks,

Richard..

You are asking the wrong question. For your own good,
Microsoft hides the true Administrator account. What is it
that you are trying to do that requires full Administrator rights?
Identify the folders you don't have access to.

Just a stupid question, but exactly who *owns* a computer with Windows Vista
installed? I guess I will just add this to my list of reasons to not step up
to Windows Vista.

Vista's security posture is for the benefit of the average user, and
indirectly for the benefit of all users. You can see what happens when
millions of PCs are taken over by zombie bots, which are then used
for all sorts of nefarious purposes, such as Denial of Service (DoS) attacks,
and sending out copious amounts of spam.

Norman,
Running out of things to post about in MSn Public ?
If you've Vista questions with respect to msn or hotmail, why not post them in that forum. I'll answer any that are applicable.

As far as Vista owners...from those asking questions in the Vista groups, obviously a few more than you are/were currently aware.

Microsoft have tried to mimic how OS's such as Ubuntu are now working (i.e..
you can't su into the 'root' account and you can't login to it), all you can
do is temporarily elevate your privileges in order to do stuff as
administrator (much how 'sudo' works under Linux).
