Is There Any Freeware Utility That Will List Running Processes AND Allow the List to Be Saved to a T

I am running Win ME. I have been using MSConfig to view the processes
that run on StartUp, and freeware utilities like TaskViewer to list
the processes that are running on my computer.

What I'm missing, though, is the ability to take one of these lists
and save it as a text file. As far as I can see, my only option is to
use a screen capture utility to save it as an image file. (I guess I
could then type it out or try to print it and scan it back in by OCR.)

Is there a "process lister" or similar utility that allows the list to
be saved as a text file?

SIW is an utility that displays detailed specs for motherboard, BIOS,
CPU, devices, memory, video, disk drives, ports, printers, operating
system, installed programs, processes, services, serial numbers (CD
keys), users, open files, system uptime, network, network shares, as
well as real-time monitors for CPU, memory, page file usage and network
traffic.

It displays currently active network connections, passwords hidden
behind asterisks, installed codecs, and more.

A standalone tool that does not require installation.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread.

I have tried out several of these utilities.

I've been having trouble with my computer, so haven't been in this NG
for awhile. But thanks to all for the info.

One thing I found out by accident is that LavaSoft's Ad-Aware lists
the running processes and describes them as part of its "log" when you
run it. The log is saved as a plain text file.

| C'yas,

process explorer might be what your after..

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html

you can 'save as' info on each individual running process, kill them
manually and launch new tasks - it was reccomended here when I came crying
for help, trying to locate a task manager that would let me launch apps the
way XP does, but win 98 (my 'OS') doesn't

...I love it :)
