Is There a Way to Create a Continuous Custom Animation?

A

Hey guys,

I want to create a PPT slide that shows a flowchart like design with
animation. I want the arrows to constantly have motion when playing,
like flashing on and off or moving forward. I can't figure out how to
do this. The custom animation options only execute one time. Any
suggestions? Thanks!

"The custom animation options only execute one time. "
You mentioned in the previous post that you unchecked the multiple masters
option. How about the rest of the options? You will need to uncheck "New
animation effects".

Once unchecked, you will be able to add effects onto an arrow (for instance)
and animate it according to what you want. Holler back if you need more help.

You need to give the slide an auto transition of zero secs. Then make it a
custom show and in slide show > set up show choose "loop continuously until
escape" Hyperlink to the custom show and your animations should repeat

It's possible if you have powerpoint 2002 (aka xp) or higher.

Choose "repeat" x times, on the 'timing' tab of 'custom animations'

Previous versions counld not repeat animations on a single slide.

What version do you have?

Thanks for the replies.

I am on powerpoint 2003. I did find the timing menu, but my repeat
option is grayed out! Any ideas why?

Are you using an emphasis or motion path animation. You probably wont get a
repeat option unless you are.

Click on an arrow to select it, Click Custom animations, Add Effect,
Emphasis, and choose something like Blink. Set the Sart time to With
previous and click on the Animation and move it to just below the exisitng
animation for the same shape.
You should now have 2 animations in a row for the same shape. Click on the
drop down arrow for the Blink animation, click on Timing, set Repeat to Until
End of Slide. Experiment until you get the effect you're looking for.

For an alternative method, a downloadable example of a looping intro with
fireworks animation is available at:
