Is there a 'sneak' setting in Outlook 2003?

Hello,

My computer configueration is as follows:

P4 2.66 ghz
512 RAM
80 GB H/D
WindowsXP SP 2
Office 2003 Small Business
Outlook 2003
Internet: DSL through AOL via their dailer application
Domain mail: Network Solutions

Now my problem. I upgraded the above PC from Office 2K to Office 2003,
which included Outlook 2003. Now I can receive mail through Outlook, but
cannot send. I am using a DSL connection through AOL and this configueration
worked just fine. Now I can't send even the test mail. The only way I can
send/receive in my domail mail is use the webmail function in a browser. I
am stumped as this used to work just fine. I have screen shots available if
someone wants to see the errors. My business really depends on getting this
fixed. Thank you!

Can you just tell us what the text of each error message is?

Hello,

Here is one: 'Send test mail: The specified server was founf, but there was
no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information
is correct.....'

And two: 'Find outgoing mail server (SMTP): Outlook could not connect to
the outgoing mail server (SMTP). The problem could be server name or port,
or your server may not support SSL Verify your port and SSL settings .......'

I checked the settings and SSL is turned off, and I have rechecked the
server name. I got an e-mail from Network Solutions and they said to change
the SMTP port from 25 to 587 as AOL is blocking port 25 now. I made the
change and this still occurs. One other piece of information I left out, I
am using Norton Personal Firewall and ANtivirus, both 2005 Versions. I am
getting frustrated as I am loosing a lot of business. Thanks...

You might want to try recreating the mail accounts, or recreating your entire
profile, and see if that helps. You can create a new profile in Control
Panel | Mail | Show Profiles. You'll need to attach your .PST file to the
new profile.
