Is there a quick way to...

....delete rows which have no data in them?

My sheet has data in some rows, but every second or third row is empty.
The area concerned is several thousand rows long, so would obviously be
very monotonous and time consuming to do manually.

Also, my list seems as though it has been copied from a non spreadsheet
type app, and instead of having data in columns, all data is in column A,
and where i would hope next data unit would be in the next column, there
are just loads of spaces between the values. I would like to split into 4
or 5 columns. Any way to rectify this?

I'm using Office 2000, and have never used macros, VBA, or even conditional
formatting before..

TIA

1st
take a copy / back-up

have a look at using <data> <text to columns>

to split the text into columns using spaces or comma's etc as
separators.

to "remove" the empty rows
use <data> <sort>

Many thanks, worked a treat.
Even easier than what i thought it would be :)))))
