Is their a fix for the welcome screen ding?

Is their a fix for the welcome screen ding? I tried Kelly’s ding fix
reg file-it didn’t work. I want to keep my current sounds. But would
like to fix the welcome screen ding. It ding on log in and logout all
users and when I restart the computer it dings.

My last program I installed when the ding happen was iomega hot burn .

I think it has something to with the windows media technologies that
was installed with iomega

Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Sounds tab. Use the button with the
triangle on it (next to "Browse") to find the problem sound on all marked
ones. Once found, click on down-pointing triangle to get the list, then
scroll to "None" at the top. Remember the sound's name in case of need
later.
