Is SpyDoctor safe?

I've been very busy this week in communication with forum technicians
analyzing my HJT logs and other text reports. Am still working out serious
infections.

In the meantime:

One thing that happened last night, is that a program called "Spy Doctor"
loaded, resided, and ran on my system.

I asked on the HJT forum for its legitimacy. Have not gotten a reply on that
yet.

I did internet search on the product ... read somewhat mixed verdicts, and
searching here [in this forum] did not reveal anything instructive.

I went ahead last night and removed it (Add/Remove Programs)

May I inquire: Can somebody on the forum here tell me is SpyDoctor safe to
have?

Thanks-
Michael

No. According to MVP and security expert Eric Howes, SpyDoctor is the same
as #1 Spyware Killer and is rogue:

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm#products

Look at the #1 Spyware Killer entry:

"false positives work as goad to purchase; poor scan reporting; dubious
corp. associations (1); same app as Max Privacy Protector, SpyDoctor,
SpyFirewall, Spyinator, SpyKiller 2005, SpyLax, SpySpotter, SpywareThis, &
Spyware Protection Pro; Ad-aware knockoff [A: 10-5-04 / U: 2-7-05]"

Your computer is still infected.
