is Outlook part of the win2000 installation?? How to remove andleave Outlook Express.

I just recently updated a friends computer's win2000 installation by
installing all the updates available from microsoft except for the SP4 ....

I now see that Outlook is in the Quick Launch area, it may have been
there before but my friend hadn't seen it before, and she says it's
giving her lots of "funny messages", I'm waiting for specifics of those.

She has used Outlook Express as her mail client for almost 2 years, but
has never used Outlook, nor do I know anything about it... so my
question is, can I remove Outlook without affecting Outlook Express?

I assume it can be done through the Add/Remove Software option but want
to make sure it won't take out all her mail stuff.

thanks,

Hi,

Outlook is not part of the base 2000 install. Outlook Express is, however.
If Outlook is in fact listed under add/remove, there is no harm in removing
it.
