Is Lexmark x5270 printer compatible with any service packs

Hello,
I have a Lexmark x5270 printer and it printed fine on ME.
It is a gateway computer and since upgrading to xp home sp2 I cannot install
the printer
when you add a printer you get the message that says
Visual c++ runtime error

Runtime error!
Program: c:\windows\system32\LXBTcoms.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact theapplication’s support team for more information.

then when you click on ok and then finish.
but when you try to print any page even a test paeg we get the message
Communication error.
The USB port is 1.1 version and Lexmark claims that this is compatible with
xp with sp1 or sp2.
But I am not sure if this model is compatible with xp sp2.
Everything else works fine other than printer.
Have done the upgrade twice.
When we try to boot from the xp home cd to do a format and reinstall we get
the message that says usbehci.sys is corrupted and so we cannot boot from CD.
called gateway since I bought this CD from Gateway and they said that I have
to install ME and then upgrade and I cannot perform the Clean install right
away.

I am really stuck here as I am not sure if this Printer is compatible with
any service packs.

You'll need the XP driver. Visit this site (change your country if
necessary)

Please visit Lexmark's web site to see if they have a driver for Windows XP.
If Lexmark does not have a driver, then your printer is not compatible with
Windows XP.

I have that same printer and it works fine in XP. I used the CD that came
with it to install it.
I have formatted and done a clean install of XP several times since I have
had this printer and has worked all times.

I have not updated to XP from ME as the other person says. But I can say
that a clean install of XP with this printer works.

Please visit Lexmark's web site to see if they have a driver for Windows
XP.
If Lexmark does not have a driver, then your printer is not compatible
with Windows XP.
