Is Kapersky in System Mechanic Pro the whole program

Mike

I just purchased System Mechanic Pro 5.0, and it contains both the Kapersky
Anti-Virus and Firewall. I have Outpost for the firewall, and have no
interest in the Kapersky firewall. However I am interested in the Kapersky
Anti-Virus program. Has anybody tried whatever is included with System
Mechanic Pro 5.0? Is it the full Kapersky Anti-Virus program? Lastly how
long is the subscription to Kapersky good for?
Thanks
Mike

Hi there Mike,
Yep... System Mechanic includes full versions of Kaspersky Antihacker
and Antivirus.....but...
The versions included may be outdated..i.e. The version of KAH
included is v1.5, but the newest version of KAH from the Kaspersky site
is v1.7..... and the version of KAV included is v5, but again the
newest version from the Kaspersky site is v5.02.

Check to see what versions you have and if needed it is well worth
downloading the new versions from here:
Kaspersky Antivirus:

ftp://downloads-eu1.kaspersky-labs.com/products/release/english/homeuser/kavpersonal/kav5.0.227_personalen.exe

Kaspersky Antihacker:

ftp://ftp.kaspersky.com/products/release/english/homeuser/kantihacker/kasp1.7.130_anti-hackeren.exe

Here are instructions fro installing the new versions:
Install System Mechanic indicating that you want to install Kaspersky
Antivirus as well.....
Once System Mechanic and KAV Have been installed, work as normal and
get your Keys/Register etc.

Now.......

Go to Windows Add/Remove programs and click that you want to remove
System Mechanic.
A window will appear asking you what parts of system mechanic you want
to uninstall.... Click Kaspersky Antivirus.

It will Uninstall KAV and shd restart your PC.

Now.. when KAV has been uninstalled just install the version from the
link above.... System Mechanic will automatically recognise the new
version and all shd be fine.... KAV shd see your Licence Keys.

You now have a 1yr full licence.

Hope this helps.... I know it's a feckin hand-bag... I've told the
people at system mechanic about the problem.

Be good,
Shay
