Hi Eddie,
Chris explained the situation well and offered a great alternative.
Great advice as always Chris, thank you!
Cheers,
Jimmy.
| Eddie, in Windows XP, there is Remote Assistance which can do everything
| you've said. However, I will never assist someone who is not personally
| known to me. What happens if I helped you and you turned around and said I
| destroyed your machine (even if you did something afterward that fried the
| hardware). Sorry. The risk is too great.
|
| If you use Windows Update, it will keep your machine current without your
| intervention. Even look for the information in Help and Support for Auto
| Update. You can set a couple things, with the assistance of a wizard and
| the guidance from Help and Support, and your system will take care of the
| downloads and installations from Microsoft - automatically.
|
| I would suggest you go to the Expert Zone chat sessions - it is 24/7 - and
| just read the questions. You don't need to even post if you don't want.
| Just observe, figure a few things out. Any time you have a question, you
| could post in the chat group or try looking it up in Help and Support.

| available to allow someone to access your computer online and make
| corrections. I do not have the time or knowledge to download the correct
| updates, uninstall things(( which scares me to death) and then install the
| correct items. I have something in my support which would allow me to grant
| access. Do you have a clue what I'm talking about?
