Is IE6 still supported?

I'm on XP and receive regular notifications of Windows security updates. IE7
initially came as a "Critical Update" and I therefore dutifully downloaded
the update. I did not like IE7 and therefore uninstalled it going back to
IE6 and marked the IE7 critical Update as "hidden", one I did not wish to
see again.

In the most recent round of "Critical Updates" IE7 was again there. Again,
I refused it but this makes me wonder if IE6 is still supported with its own
critical updates by Microsoft or is it ignored because MS assumes everyone
is now using IE7?

Is it?

How do you go back to IE 6. What exact steps are needed. I need to remove IE
7 and go back to IE6 due to IE 7 being incompatible with work computer
systems but I am unsure how to do so and need to make sure that I don't end
up with neither version so my wife can access her work thru IE 6.
Thanks

You just go to Control Panel and then "add remove Programs". Make sure you
have "Show Updates" selected at the top.

Then scroll down to where you see the IE 7 update and uninstall it. You
will find yourself back with the old IE6.

I use Firefox for everything except Windows Update which requires IE and for
that I use IE6.

Hope that helps.

IE6 is supported for XP SP2, not for earlier versions of XP.
