ipod - Windows ME installation prob

G

Guest

Son just got an ipod (by HP) for XMAS. We're trying to install it via the CD
and it tells me I need SP4. I try to download SP4 and, after install, I get
the following error: "SP4 express_en.exe file is linked to missing export
NTDLL.DLL:strstr."
Any ideas on installing this for windows ME?

iPod software is only compatible with Windows 2000 with SP4
installed or Windows XP. It is not compatible with Windows ME.

You'll need to upgrade your Windows ME operating system to
Windows XP Home Edition or Professional before you can install
the iPod software.

First off, SP4 for is for Windows 2000 Pro, not ME or XP. I'm not
sure from your post how or where you installed it to. Are you sure
that you're selecting the correct install procedure? There should be
a separate install procedure for Win98/98SE/ME and then for Win2000
and XP. Be sure you're using the proper one. And, by the way, this
forum is about XP not ME. Merry Xmas and enjoy the iPod.
