Iomega Zip cartridges all read only on WinXP Pro?

Is there a setting in Windows XP Pro that would make an Iomega Zip Drive
treat all zip cartridges as read only? These same cartridges work fine on
an external Zip Drive on a laptop, with read and write capabilities.

I found the answer:
He has a 750 MB Zip drive in the PC, and a 250 Zip Drive external on the
laptop. The 750 will only read, not write, to 100 MB cartridges. Iomega
designed it this way.
