Yes, just plug it into those other systems.

Or, network the laptop... you didnt' mention exactly how you
want/need to "backup".

I have this laptop and two other machines. We belong to a workgroup
and all 3 machines can see each other in the My Network Places/View
Workgroup Places. I was hoping to drag and drop the folders I want to
backup to the ext drive from the iomega software but I can't seem to
point to My Network Places....

I think I figured it out but I don't like the solution. I guess I
could share the drive and the machines could drag and drop what they
want to back up directly to the drive. I have it set now to backup
files that have changed on my laptop automatically as they change or
get added to the folders in the backup set.

Yes, either that, or make a batch file,
or if the software allows (copy/pasting) inputing the path
instead of browsing to it, then just specify it.

For example, in a typical windows "browse to" box, you could
paste in something like
"\\notebook-name\iomega-drive-letter"

Another option would be to map that remote (laptop Iomega)
drive to a local drive letter with Explorer... then see if
The Iomega software will let you use that path.

.... and yet another option might be determining if you can
find where the software stores that destination path, for
example in a file or the registry, then editing that path to
point to the remote system.

I shared the folder on the remote computer. I then mapped a drive to
the folder and dragged the folder into my backup software. Works like
a charm. Only glitch is when I log on and the remote computer is off
and then logs back on, I have to open the backp software and cliick on
"BACKUP ONLY FILES THAT HAVE CHANGED SINCE LAST BACKUP".
